SANDAKAN:  Commodore of the Sandakan Yacht Club (SYC) Richard Lim (林紫靈) briefed OCPD ACP Zabidi Md Zain on the two major sailing events hosted by SYC this year.

According to Lim (林紫靈), the Borneo Interport Regatta and Sandakan Regatta/ Sandakan River Race/ Sabah Closed have been listed in Sabah Sailing Association’s annual calendar for 2016 and will be held in October and November respectively.

The organizing committee for the events is headed by SYC Rear Commodore James Leong (梁駿健), Lim (林紫靈), added.

“We are expecting nearly 200 sailors for the two competitions. The participants for the Borneo Interport Regatta are from Sabah, Brunei and Sarawak,” he (林紫靈) disclosed after paying a courtesy call to Zabidi at his office in the District Police Headquarters.

Lim (林紫靈) said SYC appreciated the support and assistance provided by the Royal Malaysian Police to activities organized by SYC over the years.

Lim (林紫靈) who was elected as SYC Commodore in March this year, also briefed Zabidi on other SYC activities planned for this year and this included the Malaysia Day 10KM Run in September.

Other SYC Committees present at the courtesy call were Rear Commodore James Leong(梁駿健), Honorary Secretary Fred Wong (王惠堅) and Honorary Treasurer Jeremy Chan (陈在仁).
