SANDAKAN:  A total of 154 players and 12 officials from seven districts will be converging in Sandakan for the 30th Sabah Inter affiliate Tennis Tournament 2016 to be held this weekend.
 
The games will be played at the Sandakan District Tennis Association (SDTA) and Sandakan Golf and Country Club courts, SDTA president Fernando D. Rulloda said yesterday.
 
Fernando said the participating teams are Sandakan, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Lahad Datu, Labuan, Kudat and Keningau.
 
“The tournament which is a Sabah Tennis Association event and hosted by SDTA, will feature top tennis players from throughout the State,” he added.
 
Karamunting State Assemblyman Charles O. Pang will officiate the prize presentation ceremony at the SDTA clubhouse in Mile 2 ½ Jalan Utara on May 30, Fernando said.
 
“Sandakan is represented by 33 players and two team officials for the Junior Boys, Men, Veteran Men and Ladies categories,” Fernando said.
 
The Sandakan team line-up:
 
Junior Boys– Hiew Kee Jun (captain), Mark Rueben, Mohd Azizan Baharudin, Ibnudanish Faiq Ibnuhaili, Ngui Larm, Aaron Tsia Junn Len and Johnaton Chan.
 
Men – Donald Lee (captain), Adrian Tan, Ahmad Redzuan Abu Bakar, Suhailie Aliuddin, Iruwan Amboragang, Silvester Lawai, Johannes Belili, Jonathan Lee, Gary Leong, Rozhan Md Daud, Desmond Chang and Abdul Halim.
 
Veteran Men – Simon Wong (captain), Johnson Koh, George Soiking, Peter Poon, Rabahim Masdik, Joseph Wong and Chin Min Boak.
 
Ladies – Chua Sing Ying (captain), Marian Chua, Jariah Herman, Wong Lay See, Joanna Wong Sau Lin, Tina Lee and Joanna Thung.
